The goal of this initiative is to introduce high school students to programming, which is aligned with Digigirlz’s mission to introduce youth to the STEM field.
We plan on visiting a public high school where we will set up stands, in each one, there will be two mentors discussing various tech fields (such as web development, data science, etc…) and the programming languages each field uses, with the intention to demystify these topics and give them a clearer idea. We will also introduce them to the materials and resources where they can learn more. Next, in a workshop, they will learn about the fundamentals and apply that to simple exercises that will motivate them to look deeper.
We want to approach this program with a cheerful attitude, so we’re considering including the students in enjoyable activities and games to make sure they have a good time and remain inspired to learn more.
